For existing SAP2005 practitioners
Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning (APEL) route Existing SAP2005 practitioners can apply via the APEL route. This process involves an initial application and once accepted you will then be individually assessed against the requirements of the National Occupational Standards for On Construction Energy Assessors. As the APEL route is open to a wide range of applicants, from different backgrounds, the BRE will help identify any areas requiring attention. You will also be required to submit, for assessment, 5 draft EPC calculations from your existing work using our BuildDesk Energy Design.
For more details of the BRE APEL route, click here
Those candidates requiring additional training can attend a one day EPC top up training course, using the latest BuildDesk Energy Design software, at the BRE in Watford.
