Government-approved for SBEM calculations
BuildDesk Carbon Checker follows the calculation methods and procedures specified in the new ADL2 and NCM documents and incorporates the Government’s SBEM calculation engine. BuildDesk Carbon Checker now produces EPC's
The timetable for the introduction of EPCs for commercial buildings when sold or leased (or when the lease is renewed) depends on the overall floor area of the building. EPCs apply to buildings over 10,000m2 from the 6th April, over 2,500m2 from 1st July and all remaining buildings from 1st October. Our Carbon Checker software is approved forthe generation of EPCs and the accompanying recommendations report. Latest Implementation Timetable.
Commercial Energy Assessor
Those wishing to generate EPC’s must be suitably qualified and members of an Energy Assessor Accreditation Scheme for non dwellings. BuildDesk is pleased to be in partnership with the BRE which is able to offer suitable training routes and an Approved Accreditation Scheme for customers using our BuildDesk Carbon Checker software. Existing BuildDesk Carbon Checker users may wish to follow the BRE’s APEL route to qualification and accreditation. If this is the case attendance at BuildDesk Training courses will be useful when submitting your application.

Software pricing information
For Building Regulation submissions, draft EPCs and design purposes BuildDesk Carbon Checker is priced at £450+VAT for an annual license. The price includes 1 year Helpline support and 1 year software maintenance fee. Introductory software training is available.
Commercial Energy Assessors registered with the BRE Accreditation scheme are entitled to a discounted price of £250+VAT for an annual license. Any previous Carbon Checker license holders who subsequently qualify as Non-Domestic (commercial) Energy Assessors can apply to have their unexpired license period extended on a pro rata basis at the discounted rate. EPC lodgement pricing
Once qualified and Accredited a new license code is required from BuildDesk to enable lodgement of EPCs via the BRE Accreditation scheme. The BRE Accreditation lodgement fee for Energy Performance Certificates for Non Domestic Buildings is £30.00, in addition to this is a Landmark fee of £5.36 and a BuildDesk fee of £7.50. These fees will be collected directly by the BRE.
