Dwellings - Technical Standard J (J3) There are 3 alternative methods for showing compliance with the "Technical Standard J (J3): Conservation of Fuel & Power in Dwellings (2001 edition)": - the Elemental Method, - the Target U-Value Method, and - the Carbon Index Method. In addition to meeting these compliances, building warrant applications for all new build dwellings (including those formed by Material Change of use) are also required to include an energy rating calculation in

accordance with the Standard Assessment Procedure (SAP 2001). Approved software programmes are able to calculate C02 emissions, expressed as The Carbon Index.

The purpose of the consultation is to seek comments on proposed amendments to Section 6: Energy and Section 3: Environment. The consultation ends 26th May, reporting back by 26th August.
Consultation on the Implementation Of Articles 7, 8 AND 9 of the EU Directive on the Energy Performance of Buildings. The consultation ends 11th August, reporting back by 11th December.
